Odd how this song fits the current 'community'.
I sat in a shadow today, taking refuge from the heat. Honestly, the idea of flesh sizzling comes to mind.
While I was there, I noticed several other creatures sharing the same space.
For the same reason.
For a moment, 'lion shall lay with the lamb'..
We shared a respite. A 'cease-fire'.
Against a common foe (re: THE SUN), we put aside our differences and natural instincts to kill each other, and just tried to live.
When a cloud made walking a bit less uncomfortable, I seized the opportunity.
I walked away.
I guess I could have squashed them all under that tree.
Instead, I let them live their fantasy.
A world where we all 'got along'.
And it is fantasy, mind you.
PURE unadulterated fantasy.
Maybe humans would have behaved differently under that tree.
Maybe they would have done the same.
Maybe I would have reacted differently if the creatures were humans.
Maybe not.
